NATIONAL COMMUNITY PLANNING MONTH PROCLAMATION
CORINTH, TX, October 30, 2024 – During the City Council Meeting on October 17, Mayor Bill Heidemann proclaimed October as National Community Planning Month. The City of Corinth proudly recognizes the dedication and expertise of its Planning and Development Department, which works year-round to enhance Corinth’s growth, resilience, and quality of life.
Our planners are committed to enhancing the well-being of residents by using professional expertise, data-driven insights, and a strategic, long-term vision to foster safer, more resilient, and prosperous communities. As communities face the challenges of a growing housing crisis, planners play an essential role in guiding reforms that support accessible, attainable housing, and sustainable development.
Additionally, we are proud to announce that Corinth has received recognition for the fifth consecutive year in the Richard R. Lillie FAICP Planning Excellence Recognition Program from the Texas Chapter of the American Planning Association. This program focuses on:
- Boosting community awareness about the importance of thoughtful planning,
- Recognizing planning departments that meet top professional requirements,
- Celebrate planning efforts that have community support,
- Encourage professional training for our Planning Commissioners and staff
- Enhancing economic development while respecting our community’s identity
Join us in celebrating our planners and their efforts to shape a bright future for Corinth.
