CORINTH UPDATE ON CORONAVIRUS 2019
Corinth, TX, March 16, 2020 - To help minimize the potential spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) City Manager Bob Hart announced the suspension or cancellation of certain events and operations for eight weeks in coordination with the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
At this time, there are no confirmed COVID-19 cases in the City of Corinth. City personnel will continue to monitor the local, regional, and national impact of the virus to ensure the health and safety of our community and our employees.
Corinth City Hall, Public Safety Complex:
All City Facilities will remain open during normal weekday hours of Monday - Thursday, 7:30am - 5:00pm and Friday, 7:30am - 11:00am. Where feasible, we encourage members of the public to conduct business with city staff through phone calls and emails rather than in person.
Municipal Court:
The Corinth Municipal Court has canceled all court dockets through May 10, 2020. All court dates and cases will be rescheduled. The Court office will remain open for in person service.
City Events:
The State of the City event will be rescheduled in August 2020. The following City events are canceled: Easter Egg'stravaganza, KCB Big Event, Kona Ice Chill Free Day, KCB Rain Barrel Workshop, and Fish N Fun.
Parks:
All City sports facilities and fields will remain open for use by the public and local sports leagues. The sports leagues may make their own determinations on continuing games and practices.
Facilities:
Community rental of the City Council Chambers, Public Safety Complex Training Room, Fire House No. 1 Community Room and the Woods Building has been suspended until May 10, 2020.
The Lake Cities Fire Department is in constant contact with the Denton County Public Health, the Texas Department of State Health Services as well as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention monitoring the situation and the impact of COVID-19. The public is encouraged to take action to limit the spread of germs at home, at work, and in the community.
