CORINTH LAUNCHES NEW WEBSITE

new web site

Corinth, TX, June 24, 2019 - The City of Corinth launched its new website Wednesday, June 19, 2019. There were many reasons that called for the change, primarily the age of the previous site- which had not been redesigned in five years. A recently conducted survey also found that residents struggled navigating the old site and wanted to be able to access information more easily.  The updated site reflects the City’s commitment to improving quality of service and communication to residents with new and improved features.

“The resident survey gave us a pretty clear direction” stated Lee Ann Bunselmeyer, Director of Finance,  Communication & Strategic Services. “Our residents wanted up-to-date information  with richer online content that was easier to navigate.  There was also a strong desire to stay informed with information on city capital and development projects. So we’re most excited about the projects feature of the site.”

The projects feature is a searchable map that displays all city projects. The map is interactive and filterable by department, status, whether the project is underway, completed, or in design. Once you have selected a city project, you can learn more about it by viewing the uploaded supporting documents and pictures.

There is also a shifted focus in making information attainable- through clear graphics, a dynamic interface, and responsive design. Municode, a company that creates custom designs for government websites, was chosen to bring this vision to life. Municode also designed the site with ADA accessibility in mind.

“Following the main goal of the redesign, we sought to make information easier to find by optimizing the resident’s online mobile experience.  We’d found that over half of our users were accessing the website from a mobile device, so a great responsive design had to be a priority.” said Emily Beck, Communication & Marketing Coordinator.

On Corinth’s team is a website committee of 13 individuals from every department within the City who assisted in the design, content update, and provided feedback throughout the process.

“We’re very excited to bring this website to the residents of Corinth.” said Mrs. Bunselmeyer “It’s been a lot of work and some long months getting everything where it needed to be, but now we’re live and we couldn’t be more excited.”
