Corinth, TX, June 11, 2020 - The City of Corinth was the recipient of a TAMI Award for its Communication Strategic Plan from the Texas Association of Municipal Information Officers (TAMIO).

TAMIO, an affiliate of the Texas Municipal League,  recognizes outstanding communications by  municipalities each year on various categories from marketing, special events, media relations, and websites. Judging is conducted by non-members with expertise in communications and municipal government.  During the annual conference held in Denton this week, the Communications staff received the highest award for Communications Planning.

"This is a great accomplishment for our newly developed communications division," stated Lee Ann Bunselmeyer, Director of Finance, Communication & Strategic Services.  "We thank the City Council for their support in placing communications as a priority for our organization.  The award reaffirms that we are headed in the right direction with our communication initiatives."

The City Council adopted the Communication Strategic Plan in January 2019.  It was created to better serve, inform, and engage the residents of Corinth through transparency & accountability, distribution of  timely & accurate information, public engagement and developing a community identity promoting the community’s unique characteristics.
