Outdoor Burning Permits, Regulations, & Requirements

Burn Ban Denton County

Denton County Is Currently Under A Burn Ban And Outdoor Burning Is Not Allowed. Anyone Burning During The Burn Ban, May Be Issued a Citation. No Burn Permits Will Be Issued At This Time.

 

Regardless of the individual city or town ordinance on outdoor burning, you must have a current burn permit issued by the Lake Cities Fire Department. It must be a burn day according to the Denton County Fire Marshal's Office website to conduct any outdoor burning.

If you would like to conduct an outdoor burn, please see Burn Permit Requirements. If you meet the requirements, please use the online burn permit request to begin the process for obtaining a burn permit. 

Please Note: All outdoor burn piles will be inspected by a Lake Cities Fire Department representative and you must have a burn permit issued from the fire department to begin outdoor burning.

Burn permits can be issued at anytime throughout the calender year. All burn permits issued expire at the end of the calender year.

Corinth, Hickory Creek, Lake Dallas and Shady Shores

To conduct outdoor burning, the owner / occupant must meet the following:

  1. Meet the Burn Permit Requirements.
  2. Obtain a burn permit from the Lake Cities Fire Department.
  3. Follow the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality on Outdoor Burning in Texas Appendix C and D.
  4. It must be a Burn Day according to the Denton County Fire Marshal's Office website.
