UPPER TRINITY ENACTS STAGE ONE DROUGHT WATERING RESTRICTIONS
CORINTH, TX, July 13, 2023 - As the summer heat continues, Upper Trinity Regional Water District (UTRWD) remains in Stage 1 of their Drought Contingency Plans. As Corinth’s main water source, residents are asked to comply with UTRWD requirements for Drought Contingency Plans and Water Conservation Plans promulgated by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
Residents are to limit outdoor watering with automatic systems or hose-end sprinklers and are recommended to follow the Texas Two-Step: limit outdoor watering to no more than two days per week and before 10AM or after 6PM.
Residents are also being asked to comply with the following conservation efforts:
- Check your home’s irrigation system for leaks.
- Reduce the frequency of draining and refilling swimming pools.
- No filling or refilling of ornamental fountains and ponds.
- No hosing off paved areas, building, windows, or other hard surfaces.
- Don’t leave sprinklers unattended.
- Restrict washing of any more vehicle to the use of a hand-held bucket or a hand-held hose equipped with a positive shut-off nozzle for quick rinses.
