Single Family Rental Registration Information
Corinth City Council adopted the Single Family Rental Ordinance on February 1, 2022. This ordinance requires owners of all single-family residential rental properties in Corinth, including duplexes and townhomes, to register their rental properties with the City of Corinth. Benefits of the program:
- Documenting and recording the conditions of the rental properties.
- Education about rights and responsibilities of owners and tenants.
- Ensure that tenants are provided with safe and sanitary housing.
- Promote healthy homes that can protect children and seniors.
- Help identify dangerous structures and eliminate the hazards.
- Help with identification of illegal activity inside the units.
- Help maintain sustainability in an aging community.

Property Registration
Each owner of a residential rental unit is required to register their rental unit(s) annually (per rolling calendar year), when the property owner changes, or when the tenant changes.

Property Inspection FAQ
To schedule a single-family rental inspection, please contact Neighborhood Services at 940-498-3274.
- Inspection of rental property every time there is a change in occupancy. Property Managers are required to provide proof of repairs if any are needed.
- Inspection if a tenant has a valid complaint regarding rental property.
- Inspector will assess the residence for the following
- exterior conditions of home and property maintenance
- life-safety inside and outside of residence, this includes all plugs, smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, breakers, water heater, HVAC, gas lines/manifolds/drip legs, operable doors, windows, and pool/spa equipment (if applicable) are in working order; and do not cause a life-safety issue for the tenant or neighboring homes
- it is not required for the residence to be automatically "code-upgraded" unless the repair requires a trade permit to be pulled in order to do the work
Fees
- Single-Family Rental Inspection (Initial Annual Fee, Change in Ownership, or Tenant): $50.00.
- An additional $50.00 fee will be added to the permit for non-complicance of repairing items after the first re-inspection of the property.
