MAYOR BILL HEIDEMANN APPOINTED TO NLC TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE
CORINTH, TX- February 10, 2022: City of Corinth Mayor Bill Heidemann has been appointed to the National League of Cities (NLC) Transportation & Infrastructure Services Federal Advocacy Committee. Mayor Heidemann was elected to a one-year term and will provide strategic direction and guidance on NLC’s federal advocacy agenda and policy priorities.
The Transportation and Infrastructure Services (TIS) Committee is responsible for leading NLC’s policy development and advocacy on transportation connectivity, including federal funding, safety, and innovation in all modes of transportation. The Committee’s policy development includes working subcommittees on roads and bridges, transit, rail, aviation and ports, and transportation technology. Through the Committee’s advocacy, NLC is a leading voice on fixing the Highway Trust Fund, integrating drones into the national airspace with FAA, and the nationwide deployment of autonomous vehicles with USDOT, among many other smart city issues.
NLC’s Federal Advocacy Committee members include local elected officials and city staff from NLC member cities and towns across the country committed to discussing and influencing federal policy that has a direct and profound impact on local government operations.
Bill is a retired business manager and is currently employed by DATCU. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Stout. He received a Bachelor of Science degree before attending graduate school at the University of Wisconsin-Stout and Columbia University.
Bill was appointed to the position of Mayor in 2015. Bill has served as a Corinth Economic Development Corporation member and is currently a member of the Denton-Lake Cities Rotary, Lake Cities Focus, and the Lake Cities Education Foundation. He was recently named the Citizen of the Year for 2019 by the Lake Cities Chamber of Commerce.
