RODGERS AWARDED CERTIFIED GOVERNMENT CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER DESIGNATION

CORINTH, TX, October 6, 2020 – Shea Rodgers, Technology Services Manager, earned the Certified Government Chief Information Officer (CGCIO) designation through the Texas Association of Government Information Technology Managers. The CGCIO Program is a twelve-month course administered by the Center for Public Technology at the University of North Carolina’s School of Government.

“This was an invaluable experience for me professionally, and I am looking forward to implementing many of the techniques and insights we learned to help Corinth excel in the technological sector,” said Shea Rodgers.

Public sector technology professionals from across the nation met weekly through zoom on the increasing challenges and responsibilities facing technology services in government agencies. The program equips leaders with the tools to manage and improve their organizational technology assets by managing the constantly expanding role for technology services and protecting against ever-increasing security threats.   The certification denotes expert skills in cyber-security, legal compliance, project management, and a commitment to professional growth.

As highly competent technology services professionals, CGCIO’s handle some of the most critical security issues within the public sector. Excellence in these skills ensures the efficiency, safety, and progressive nature of individuals working for and with the city.

Shea has led the Technology Services Department for the City of Corinth since 2015.  He holds a Bachelors of Arts and a Masters of Public Administration from the University of North Texas.
