CITY EMPLOYEES EARN CERTIFIED PUBLIC MANAGER CERTIFICATION
Corinth, TX, June 11, 2019 - Public Works Director Cody Collier and Police Captain Jimmie Gregg earned the Certified Public Manager (CPM) certification at the program’s graduation ceremony on June 10 in Austin, Texas. The Texas Certified Public Manager Program, accredited by the National Certified Public Manager Consortium, is designed for present and future leaders in public service.
"This is a great accomplishment for Cody and Jimmie," stated City Manager Bob Hart. "They have shown great commitment to the program and the City of Corinth. The training and skill sets they have developed over these past eighteen months will serve them well as they continue to lead their respective departments."
Cody Collier is a twenty year veteran of the City of Corinth public works department and was appointed as the Director in 2016. He manages the water, wastewater, storm drainage, streets, and parks & recreation departments. He is an Accreditor for the American Public Works Association (APWA) and maintains the following licenses from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ): Water Distribution Class C, Wastewater Collection II, Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester and a Licensed Irrigator.
Jimmie Gregg was appointed to the position of Captain for the Corinth Police Department in April of 2019. Captain Gregg manages Criminal Investigations, Property and Evidence, School Resource Officers, Records, and Animal Control. Captain Gregg also oversees community services, citizens on patrol, internal affairs, and is the department’s Program Manager for the Texas Police Chiefs Association Best Practices program.
The 18-month CPM program is a nationally-recognized program for training and developing public managers and supervisors. The CPM Program is a series of seven tracks designed to enhance the skills, knowledge and abilities of public managers in areas of human resources, quality management, communication, finance, program evaluation and information systems.
