CORINTH RECEIVES 14TH DISTINGUISHED BUDGET PRESENTATION AWARD
CORINTH, TX, August 18, 2020 – The Certificate of Achievement for Distinguished Budget Presentation has been awarded to the City of Corinth by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its Annual Program of Services for the 14th consecutive year.
In order to receive the budget award, the city had to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation. These guidelines are designed to assess how well a city's budget serves as a policy document, a financial plan, an operational guide, and a communications device.
"This award is an impressive achievement for the City," stated City Manager Bob Hart. "It reflects the dedication and consistency of the finance staff to consistently meet the highest standards of governmental budgeting."
Budget documents must be rated "proficient" in all four categories, and in the fourteen mandatory criteria within those categories, to receive the award. This award is valid for one year.
