CORINTH BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS SEEK VOLUNTEERS

Corinth, TX, February 6, 2020 - Are you interested in shaping the future of Corinth?  The City is seeking volunteers for boards and commissions that support City Council, all of which play an essential role in providing input to the city decision making process.

Applications will be accepted through March 31, 2020. Candidates must be registered to vote in Corinth, have been a resident for at least six months, and agree to serve a two-year term.

Planning and Zoning Commission

The purpose of the Planning and Zoning Commission (P&Z) is to act as an advisory board on all matters relating to zoning, city planning, and development applications.  The Board's primary function is to prepare and keep updated the City’s master plan to ensure orderly growth, and preserve the unique character of the community.  The City is seeking applications for the Place 6 - Alternate 2 position.

Parks and Recreation Board

The Parks and Recreation Board serves as an advisory committee reviewing the recreation programs, park facilities, trail system and beautification programs of the City and recommend use of the City’s parks. The City is seeking applications for Place 1 and Place 2

Zoning Board of Adjustments & Board of Construction Appeals

The Zoning Board of Adjustments is a quasi-judicial body that determines variances to the Zoning Ordinance. The City Council has no review authority over decisions of the Board of Adjustment.  The purpose of the Board of Construction is to provide an appeal process for appeals to decisions of the Building Official.  Appointment will reflect dual membership for both boards.  The City is seeking applications for Place 3 and Place 6.

Keep Corinth Beautiful

Keep Corinth Beautiful serves as an advisory committee regarding beautification and community improvement, litter prevention and the minimization of solid waste.  The Committee Mission is build a united, energetic and beautiful community through walking trails, tree plantings, gardening, recycling and organizing.  The City is seeking applications for Place 6.
